The Advantages Of Owning An Automatic Pool Cleaner

In todays busy world where people can afford luxury items like swimming pools, most people want to maximize the use they get out of them. But swimming pools require constant maintenance. If you dont have automated systems in place you will have to do them the old fashioned way, with good ole honest manual labour!

For those with the spare cash, and lets face it if you have a pool you must already have a decent income, the solution is to use an automatic or robotic pool cleaner.

There are actually a lot of advantages of owning one of these cleaners and that is not just the time saver it will give you. One of these cleaners will do the job more effectively than you can with a brush, which will also keep your pool more hygienic. It will also mean that your exiting pool components such as your filter and your pump, will not have to run as hard to remove dirt and grime from your water.

There are basically there are 3 kinds of pool cleaners. Robotic pool cleaners that work without any other equipment (and are self-powered) and pressure and suction side cleaners that work in conjunction with your pools technology. All will do the exact same job and keep your pool clean and tidy. But it must be said that robotic pool cleaners work the fastest though.

Automatic pressure cleaners generally work the same as a pressure washer. With these cleaners, high pressure water is utilized to blast dirt particles away from the surface of the pool. They even can navigate freely around the floor and also along the walls of your pool, scrubbing and vacuuming away silt and grime and transporting it to an on-board debris bag, or back out through your pools filtration system.

These cheaper pressure and suction side models do not have a debris bag for collecting the dirt and tend to either blast the dirt up to the water line so it can be eliminated naturally through your filter, or they use the return water line to transport dirt directly back to your filter. These pool cleaners rely heavily on your pools filter, pump and suction lines and therefore can cause extra wear and tear on them.

These models are also not as adept at covering the whole pool without at times getting stuck. You will need to give them a tug once in a while as they get stuck on a cleaning path, plus many need to be dragged down to the deep end as they have a hard time staying on track the deeper the water gets.

For the least amount of intervention and less pressure on your pools technology a robot cleaner from Polaris or Kreepy Krauly would be ideal. They only need electric to run on, plus they capture all the dirt in their filter bags. They also have quite complex computer navigation programs built in that randomizes their cleaning paths to ensure your entire pool is covered.

They are ideal for unusual shapes that arent the usual square or kidney shape. Think of free form pools with sharp angles intermixed, and with steps, or even the latest craze, swim in bars with pool chairs! Leave your little robot to work and Kreepy Krauly even have a model named the Lil Shark, but dont put them to work with people already in the pool or they will get a nasty bite!
