The requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering under the related disciplines with Bachelor’s

Degree in Engineering; * Minimum (4) years of professional work experience in a similar position;

  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication in Urdu and English languages;
  • A good understanding of the national electrical standards will be advantageous;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and solar PV system modeling tools;
  • Willing to travel to remote areas;
  • Experience in construction project site supervision.

LOCATION: Hunza District of Gilgit Baltistan

The position

Northern Pakistan Energy Limited (NPak Energy), a subsidiary of IPS, operates on the basis of a 30-year Concession Agreement signed with the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). Responding to the GB government’s request, NPak Energy will develop the energy system to supply clean, reliable, and affordable electricity for all of Central & Lower Hunza as well as demonstrate the applicability and relevance of a regionally proven model for the operation of an integrated utility company in Pakistan. It builds on the successful PPP solutions implemented by AKFED in both Tajikistan and Afghanistan through NPak Energy’s sister companies, Pamir Energy and Badakhshon Energy.

NPak Energy Limited is hiring Electrical Engineers. The duties and responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare technical requirements for the initiated Renewable Energy (RE) projects (Solar, Hydro, Wind);
  • Support in preparing tender documents as well as evaluation of the proposals;
  • Review the current international standards of RE (solar, hydro, wind) technology, and their best practices and integrate them into project implementation when possible;
  • Provide input to the budget process;
  • To review and verify proposals/ feasibility study reports/detailed designs for the RE projects.
  • Promote safe working conditions by monitoring adherence to company policies, safe work practices, greater safety awareness, proper tooling, job safety briefs, and the use of personal protective equipment;
  • Plan and schedule work activities including ordering of parts, materials, supplies, vendor support, work instructions, and procedure development;
  • Lead troubleshooting activities including mechanical failures and electrical problems utilizing plant systems to assist in the process;
  • Checks the work submitted, electrified engineering systems for compliance with the requirements of the Project, Construction Norms and Regulations and other regulatory documents;
  • Participates in the necessary tests of electrified engineering systems, networks, and equipment, and the preparation of acts based on their results;
  • Organize and prioritize plant engineering projects and provide support for projects originating in corporate engineering;
  • Subject to 24-hour callout and occasionally serve as on-call supervisor. May be required to stay on site. May be scheduled to work backshifts, weekends, or holidays.
